The UTCA Consulting Group (formerly Volunteer Consulting Group) is a pro-bono service offered through the University of Toronto. We take on a select number of consulting cases each year to offer services from our teams consisting of a mix of undergraduate, Master’s, Ph.D., and MBA students. Each team is paired with one or more UTCA alumni professional consultant advisors from prominent firms such as McKinsey & Company and the Boston Consulting Group.
Our consulting engagements run from October to March and span a wide variety of business problems including strategy, engagement, retention, sales, and management. We recruit our startup and non-profit clients from around the world with a focus on the Greater Toronto Area.

As our clients gain free expert-level consulting solutions, our students become experienced and ready for a career in consulting.
Our student consultants have the unique opportunity to work with interdisciplinary teams of University of Toronto students to solve real-world problems under the guidance of top-tier professional consultant advisors. They also have access to our proprietary training programs and events designed to prepare them for an excellent career in consulting.
Talented students with experience in consulting, leadership, and/or case competitions are encouraged to apply for the Team Lead role while bright students interested in learning more about consulting are encouraged to apply to the Associate Consultant position. We recruit from all St. George Campus programs.
